1:1 COACHING FOR

NEW ROLE VICTORY

FOR PEOPLE WHO JUST LANDED A JOB (YAY!) AND WANT PERSONALIZED SUPPORT TO THRIVE IN THEIR NEW ROLE

—————-

IDENTIFY AN EARLY WIN,

NAVIGATE NEW RELATIONSHIPS,

AND INCREASE YOUR CONFIDENCE.

A 5-month experience with bi-weekly 1:1 sessions and in-between support to fast-forward you to that point where….

…You KNOW you’re rocking it …Others see your contributions …You belong

Woohoo!  You’ve made it past hundreds of applicants and you landed that job. Relief. Joy! Excitement. AND the nerves are kicking in. The starting school again jitters. You’re hopeful and you’re also bracing yourself for the firehose that’s about to begin. This is not the first time you’ve worked for a new company, so you know there are some realities you’re about to face. Realities like:

  • COMPANIES ARE FULL OF PEOPLE, and there are always some people who are difficult to work with. Or for. You know the ones.

  • COMPANIES CAN’T ALWAYS GIVE YOU THE SUPPORT YOU DESERVE. You may have a great boss (hey, you took this job because it IS going to be better!), but even with the best intentions, your boss is going to get pulled away to put out this week’s fire and next week’s, and that one on one is going to get pushed. Your peers, supportive as they are, are already overworked right now (which is why they hired you, to relieve the load), which means even with the best people, you’ll likely be fending for yourself in a lot of ways.

  • Like it or not, YOU’RE BEING SIZED UP. You’re setting the tone for your future at the company. Are you someone worth investing in, or will you largely be dismissed? Will you get the exciting opportunities, like a promotion, a key project, a lateral move or growth opportunity? If you start off with a bad early impression that can be super hard to change.

  • YOU WANT TO BE EFFECTIVE. You want them to know they hired the right person, and that comes with some pressure. (Even though there are a few areas you know you’re not fully experienced, or fully confident in.)

  • IMPOSTER SYNDROME, COMPARISON TO OTHERS, AND PERFECTIONISM JUST LOVE THIS ENVIRONMENT (like that mold starting to multiply on your stale bread). It’s a ripe environment for all those mental pressures and mindset fears to try and get the better of you.

  • Not to mention that in the beginning phases of getting up-to-speed, WORK-LIFE BALANCE CAN BE THROWN, which often changes the dynamics between you and those you live with.

Another reality? You could do this alone.

But you don’t have to.

You could feel supported.  lighter.  Experience more ease, fun, and joy!

You deserve someone in your corner.

Someone to help you gain clarity, create a strategy, explore a given topic, and expand your awareness of possibilities.

Kendra is amazing! I initially decided to work with Kendra on a short-term basis to improve some soft-skills but ended up working with her long term. Kendra has been my “executive coach” for over 7 months! I see Kendra once a week and it’s made a noticeable difference in my work. I’ve received overwhelmingly positive feedback and my interactions have improved dramatically. I cannot recommend Kendra enough.

So, how do you start off on the right foot?

GOOD QUESTION!

Identify an Early Win

It’s really satisfying to have a concrete win (like solving a nagging problem for your team, streamlining a process that’s been a headache, building a key relationship, etc.) early on. This doesn’t have to be huge, but it’s a great way to

  • build credibility

  • build rapport

  • boost your own confidence

You’ll identify a win (and I’ll help you, ensuring that you find ways to better understand the company’s goals, your boss’ goals, your goals) so you can select something that others will recognize as valuable.   I’ll help you stay on track and navigate obstacles that may arise along the way to completing this.

  1. Getting caught in perfectionism,

  2. Second-guessing and comparing self to others

I’m Your Coach

Hi! I’m Kendra and here’s a little bit about my journey.

I worked for 12 years in the advertising research industry. I’ve worked in Customer Success, B2B Sales, and Talent Management.

And while I was working in those roles, I didn’t know coaches existed~! There were times though that it would have been SOO valuable to have someone to think through how to fill a skill gap I had when I got promoted into a new role, how to navigate interactions with a challenging boss, have someone point out that I could have asked for a raise A LOT SOONER, help me think clearly about where I wanted to pivot to next. Essentially, someone focused on me.

So now, I LOVE being that support person.

I’ve helped hundreds of clients land interview offers, become more confident, own their capabilities, overcome challenges, and improve their communication with supervisors, clients, and co-workers.

I’m an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coaching Federation (ICF), which in a nutshell, is training to ask great questions, apply techniques and modalities (like appreciative inquiry, leadership coaching, sensory awareness, etc.) to unlock client potential and address mindset barriers.

Through our work, they not only honed those skills and moved to VP, but also gained clarity on their personal values and the legacy they wanted to create —donated significantly to a charity they felt aligned with and even got engaged!"

Story: An artist needed support as they were making choices about how to advance their business and get clear on what felt fulfilling. They ended up ultimately moving abroad and pursuing mural painting.
